Appliance Maintenance Rebates
Receive up to $150 in rebates on having your appliances serviced by a licensed gas contractor. This can include either a furnace or boiler, a tankless water heater, and up to two fireplaces. To apply, you must be a FortisBC gas customer and you must submit your request within 60 days of your service invoice date.
Electric Heat Pump Water Heater Rebates
Income-qualified customers can upgrade their electric water heating system to an electric heat pump water heater and receive up to $2500 in rebates.
Eligibility
You must be a residential electricity customer of FortisBC or municipal electricity customer of Grand Forks, Penticton, Summerland or Nelson Hydro with only one active residential electricity account. The home must be a year-round primary residence that is at least 10 years old and is no larger than 3500 sq. ft. It can be single-family, duplex, triplex, row home, townhouse or manufactured/mobile home on a permanent foundation.
Additionally, household income must be below the threshold for a given household size. See the thresholds at the FortisBC website.
All upgrades need to be done by a licensed contractor with a GST number and a valid BC business license for the trade applicable to the upgrade that’s being done.
You must submit the application within a year of the invoice date. You can only apply for one rebate per home.
The invoice must be dated after November 25, 2024.
The rebate cannot be more than the amount paid on the invoice. You also cannot combine it with other rebate programs; if you have applied for or received rebates under other programs, you are not eligible for this one.
